The White House is a beautiful country house set in 18 acres of formal gardens, woodland and paddocks.
Purchased by Julie in 1983 as a private house and adapted to meet the varying abilities and needs of the 42 residents who reside there. Offering a safe, homely, caring environment for Younger & Older People with Dementia & other forms of mental illness.
Facilities in the main house include 2 lounges, kitchenette/dining room, all with lovely views. ?On the ground floor we have a dedicated en suite respite room.Two single and one shared double bedroom, a shower room, disabled toilet, shaft lift for those who choose not to use the stairs.?The first floor has a shower room & assisted bathroom, two shared double rooms and nine single rooms. (None are en-suite)
All bedrooms have a hand basin and commode. Privacy curtains in shared rooms.
Two patios offer the opportunity for relaxation or exercise. Both are secure enabling the opportunity to walk safely, not wander off site to somewhere they may endanger themselves or others.?Meals are served outside in the summer if requested.
A bar-b-q is available for relatives to use on visits if they choose.?The White House has numerous animals to add extra interest, pot-bellied pigs, pygmy goats,wallabies, Peafowl, an ornamental duck pond, an aviary, a fish pond, adjoining stables with horses, plus lots of birds & wildlife including deer.

Each of the 3 units has 8 en suite bedrooms, two lounge diners & a kitchenette per unit give more flexibilty to the small group living facilities. ?Each unit individua lin the colour throughout, with pictures & memorabilia themed around three local villages Hedge End, Botley & Bishops Waltham.
Each unit including the main house, has its own care manager who will organise the day to day running of the unit.
Staff are specific to their unit offering one member of staff to every 4 residents, one to 6 in main house.
Our registration enables us to admit people from the age of 45 years (occassionally younger if required) who have a diagnosis of Dementia. ??The main house has a dedicated respite room, offering short stay breaks for people being cared for in their own homes, enabling their carers a well earned rest.
A Day Centre which will function 7 days a week, also with dedicated days for younger people with dementia,local transport available if required. PLACES AVAILABLE
October 2009. Upgrade of existing facilities with no change to numbers.
Work has commenced to upgrade the main house, 1 new bedroom is being built on each of the units which will enable us to change double rooms in the main house into singles. We will upgrade as many rooms as possible to become en suite. There will be a new lift and two new enclosed fire escapes. All rooms in the main house to be refurbished. Rear garden to be redesigned & landscaped.
Additional Day Care facility will be created on the top floor.
