The White House

The White House is situated in the village of Curdridge near Winchester, Southampton and Portsmouth in the county of Hampshire. The White House provides high quality person centred care for young people with early onset dementia and older people who are living with Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia or mental illness, who for whatever reason are now unable to live in their own homes. We have a dedicated team of professional staff who are highly experienced in providing person centred dementia care and 24 hour support to those living with dementia. Our goal is to provide a safe, homely, caring environment for younger and older people with Dementia and other forms of mental illness. Whilst we provide a high level of care and security, we still maintain full recognition of the individuals’ rights to be in control of their own life.

We welcome visitors at any time and encourage relatives to participate in care of their loved ones if they wish.

To ensure a homely, safe and caring environment for residents, without being over protective. To acknowledge the right to individuals’ privacy, offering dignity and respect, assisting the individual to maintain independence for as long as they choose to live at The White House.

Purchased by Julie Harrison in 1983 as a private house, adapted to meet the varying abilities and needs of 42 residents who reside there. Facilities in the main house include a beautiful lounge, kitchenette/dining room, both with lovely views. On the ground floor  five single en suite bedroom, a new assisted bath/ shower room, toilet & new shaft lift for those who choose not to use the stairs. The first floor has a shower room & assisted bathroom,ten single rooms, two en-suite, with refurbishment underway to create all ensuite rooms.                                                                                                                                                                          Due to the current financial climate we currently are no longer able to offer a dedicated respite room, respite will only be available when we have a vacancy.

The 3 x 9 bed units all have ensuite shower facilities, plus 1 assisted bathroom per unit.
